Zumbatomic was designed to help
kids develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a
natural part of their lives, not just a class they attend once a
week. While exercise is indeed a very important element of
childhood development, Zumbatomic also considers the whole child.
Developing a healthy lifestyle, therefore, includes learning
leadership, respect, teamwork, pride, confidence and
responsibility, as well as developing coordination, balance,
discipline, memory and creativity.
A typical Zumbatomic class is 45 minutes. The classes are broken
into two different age groups: Little Starz is for children ages 4
to 7 and Big Starz is for children 8 to 12. Song choices,
developmental-appropriate dance moves, and length of activities
are adjusted for the differing age groups. During a Zumbatomic
class, students can expect to do a warmup, learn a dance move
based on the Latin background from the Zumba fitness program,
break down a song to learn all the dance moves, and perform a fun
dance game and a performance for peers and parents. They will be
proud of themselves when they call their parents in to watch all
they have learned in their class time.
Total Body Infusion is excited to
offer Zumbatomic classes. The classes are taught by Kim Martin, a
certified Zumbatomic, and Zumba Fitness instructor.
